By: Aubrey Johnson & Barkingbird ProductionsAfter Christmas is one of the best times for sourcing products
to sell on eBay.
So much product is returned after Christmas that the stores are flooded with
returns. Most people are all shopped out, so the stores find themselves
stuck with products that usually cannot be sold as new. What's a store to
do?
Usually clearance signs will be put all over the store to move the
products.
How would you like to learn a risk-free way of using the post Christmas
season to your eBay selling advantage?
While someone is at home near a computer, you visit a bunch of stores.
You are looking for items that, at a minimum, put $25 of profit in your
pocket per sale. Now of course you're free to modify this idea to best
suit your personal interests and profit goals.
Visit different stores and look for their clearance section. It's good
to ask a salesperson where these are located, since many stores will have
more than one area where they have the clearance items displayed. Some
retailers will hide them in the corner of the store, while others will put
them right up front. That's why it's good to ask.
Most stores have a very liberal return policy. Some give 14 days, some give 30 days. Simply pay using a credit card so you do not tie up any cash. Then go
home and take some pictures and launch the auctions. If the items do not sell, simply return them to the store for a complete hassle free refund.
Having someone at home in front of the computer who can look up the
selling history for this item on eBay is quite helpful. It can help you
quickly determine whether or not it is worth your time and effort to try
to sell the item. This is especially important if there are multiple
quantities of the item available. Why? If you don't have someone researching the item before you buy it, be sure to do the research BEFORE you start taking pictures and writing the ad! eBay is great for selling store returns and even broken items. Although you can use this method all year-round, January is the best time to put it to use. So take advantage of the season, and go visit your local retailers
